Stolen car, knife and suspected class A drugs seized in West Bromwich as police arrest three men

Three men have been arrested after police seized a stolen car, knife and suspected class A drugs in West Bromwich.

West Midlands Police officers were alerted to suspicious activity near garages in Yew Tree at around 12.20am on Thursday (December 11).

Officers arrived on the scene and discovered a vehicle which had been reported stolen on November 30.

Following searches in the area they also recovered bags of suspected drugs.

A 19-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

A 45-year-old man was also detained on suspicion of theft, having class A drugs and possession with intent to supply.

Following a foot chase a third man was also detained.

An officer sustained a hand injury while making the arrest and further searches led to a knife being found.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, possession with intent to supply drugs, having an offensive weapon and assaulting a constable.

All three remain in custody for questioning.
