Man charged over death of baby boy in Stafford in 2023
A man has appeared in court charged with the manslaughter of a baby boy in Stafford.
Gareth Stark appeared at Newcastle-under-Lyme Magistrates Court on Thursday (December 11) charged with manslaughter and ill-treating or neglecting a child causing unnecessary suffering.
The 38-year-old, of Stafford, appeared in court more than two years after Staffordshire Police officers were called to reports of a three-month-old baby boy being taken to hospital.
Police were called on October 12, 2023, and the boy died in hospital just over a week later, on October 20.
Staffordshire Police confirmed that Stark had been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Stafford Crown Court on January 9.
