The team stopped a car in Erdington High Street on Sunday night and found 32 wraps of suspected heroin, as well as a smaller amount of suspected crack cocaine.

A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

He has since been bailed with strict conditions whilst enquiries continue.

Operation Skybridge is a serious and acquisitive crime (SAC Offences) team within West Midlands Police and exclusively prevent and detect crimes such as burglary, robbery, vehicle and drug crime in the allocated area they are positioned in.

Officers from the team have made hundreds of arrests and seized thousands of pounds worth of cash and drugs, along with weapons and other items.

They work alongside communities, where they address their needs and concerns, and then target the main offences in that particular area.

One of the methods used by the team is to get in touch with the community via WM Now, which allows direct contact to each individual community and build relationships.

The public can reach out to officers on the Operation Skybridge team via 101 or by emailing them at opskybridge@westmidlands.police.uk.
