Now 19, the robber, who cannot be named for legal reasons, wore a balaclava during most of his robberies as he targeted Audi and Range Rovers.

It is unknown how many cars the teenager stole before finally being arrested whilst being wanted in the spring of this year.

Between 16 and 18 the teenager carried out numerous robberies in Tipton and Wednesbury. He would go out with a balaclava or mask and wait next to high-performance cars for the owners to return and then rob them.

Some owners fought back; when one did he assaulted them and made off with their car.

He also joined a gang of car thieves who were involved in home invasions to steal car keys of the homeowners. However, for the majority of his crimes he was a lone wolf who acted alone and through planning and opportunism succeeded in stealing car after car before he had even passed a driving test.

After turning 18, he embarked on another series of crimes this year, which ultimately would lead to him being put behind bars.
