'An absolute nuisance': A robber with more than 70 convictions who stole from Stourbridge shopkeepers and Birmingham students promises to change his ways after five year sentence

A drug addled robber with over 70 convictions and branded 'an absolute nuisance' to Stourbridge shopkeepers, who also stole from students in Birmingham has been jailed for five years and three months, despite finally confronting his demons.

Timothy Little, of no fixed abode but originally from Pensnett, was sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court for nine offences including robbery, theft and burglary.

Little was on the run over the summer after being identified ad committing an aggravated robbery in Stourbridge before being arrested and remanded in custody in July.

The 44-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery, several shoplifting offences and burglary after breaking into student accommodation in Birmingham in March when he stole a Samsung vacuum, television and mobile charging station.

In mitigation,  defending, Samantha Powis said: "He is drug free since he has been in prison, he has taken advantage of every support offered by drug workers and has passed monthly tests.

"He has passed his NVQ in painting and decorating. This is all new to Mr Little as he is 44-years-old and he knows if he comes out of prison, and falls into the same way of life, he will carry on committing crime.
