James Gray, aged 27, and Sharif Cousins, aged 49, are standing trial for an offence each of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life relating to an incident where a gun was fired in Princethorpe Road off Bilston Lane in Willenhall, hitting a car and a house, in the early hours of May 26.

The jury heard that after hearing noises at shortly after 1.15am the family checked their home security cameras which had recorded a man firing a gun at the property.

In his closing speech at Birmingham Crown Court Judge Dean Kershaw told the jury: "The prosecution case is that these two were part of a small group of possibly three people and were in joint possession of a firearm. All were in that Corsa car which was driven to Willenhall.

"The prosecution says James Gray was that driver and that Sharif Cousins was the person who got into the car in Chester Road. Both knew a gun was going to be fired. The prosecution says it defies common sense to think otherwise.
