Man jailed for assaulting police officer at Aston Villa v Young Boys match
A man has received a jail sentence for assaulting a police officer at an Aston Villa Europa League game earlier this week.
Noe Burri was jailed for eight weeks at Birmingham Magistrates Court today (Saturday) after admitting assaulting a police officer at the Aston Villa v BSC Young Boys game on Thursday night.
The 36-year-old was one of four men, all from Switzerland, charged following the disorder and was also ordered to pay £200 compensation.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A man has been jailed for two months for assaulting a police officer at the Aston Villa v BSC Young Boys game.
"Noe Burri, aged 36, was jailed for eight weeks for his part in disorder at the game on Thursday night.

"He was one of four men, all BSC Young Boys fans, from Switzerland, who were charged and remanded to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today (Saturday) for a first hearing.
"Burri admitted assaulting a police officer and was also ordered to pay £200 compensation.
"Michael Hausler, aged 38, Kevin Heiniger, aged 24 and Nevio Dappen, aged 18, were all charged with using threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence.
"They were due to appear before the court this afternoon.
"Disorder had broken out inside the stadium during the first half of the Europa League Cup tie, held on Thursday."
Villa players were pelted with items thrown from the stands while celebrating Donyell Malen's opening goal for the home team.
