Teenager stabbed after football game in Birmingham - police seek witnesses

A teenager suffered life-changing injuries after being stabbed following a "social football game".

The teenager was rushed to hospital after suffering stab wounds in Birmingham on Saturday evening (November 22).

West Midlands Police has asked for anyone with any information about the incident at the Aston Triangle to get in touch as soon as possible.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Officers were called to the Aston Triangle, on the Aston University Campus, at around 5.45pm on Saturday, November 22, following reports of a stabbing after a social football game.

"The victim remains in hospital in a stable condition with suspected life-changing injuries.

"Investigating officers have been working round the clock throughout the weekend and are now asking for anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward.

"The suspect is described as black, around 18 to 20 years old, and was wearing a grey Nike Tech tracksuit.

"Anyone who was at the match and has any information or mobile phone footage is asked to come forward and speak to us.
