Appeal for woman who suffered sexual assault at Birmingham New Street to come forward

Police are appealing for the victim of a sex assault at Birmingham's New Street Railway Station to make contact with them.

British Transport Police said investigating officers want to speak to witnesses and the victim after the woman involved in the incident which happened shortly after 10pm on Saturday October 18.

The incident happened  in the Eastern Plaza of the station in New Street in Birmingham.

The force said following this, a fight broke out in the station and officers intervened and arresting one man on suspicion of sexual assault. 

This man was later bailed pending further inquiries.

Despite conducting inquiries at the scene, officers were unable to speak to the victim and are now appealing for her to come forward.

"You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, " it added.
