Man found with serious head injuries lying in Birmingham road

An appeal for information has been launched after a man was found lying in the road in Birmingham.

West Midlands Police has launched the appeal after a man was found lying on Lawley Middleway in Birmingham city centre on Tuesday morning.

The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries and the force has now begun an investigation into the incident.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was found seriously injured in Birmingham this morning.

"Officers were called to Lawley Middleway shortly after 6.30am after reports of a man lying in the road.

"He was taken to hospital with a serious head injury, and officers remain in the area today to carry out further enquiries.

"Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit is keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and might know more about what happened.

"We are especially appealing for any dash cam footage which might help us understand how the man came to be injured and whether any cars were involved.

"Anyone who was driving in the area around 6.30am or just before can get in touch via 101 quoting log 555 of 18 November.
