Man arrested and drugs and offensive weapon seized by Operation Skybridge officers in Birmingham
A man was arrested and drugs and an offensive weapon seized after police stopped and searched a suspected stolen car.
The officers from the West Midlands Police Operation Skybridge team stopped the car on Sutton Road in Birmingham on Tuesday and discovered Class A drugs and a machete.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of Class A drugs.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A man has been arrested and drugs seized after some great work by our Op Skybridge officers.
"The team were on patrol in Sutton Road when they stopped and searched a suspected stolen car.
"A small amount of suspected Class A drugs was seized, along with a machete which was in the boot.
"The driver, a man in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of Class A drugs.
"Op Skybridge officers continue to carry out proactive enforcement across Birmingham, where they target offenders and disrupt crime.
