Stafford Borough Police said Ashley Makamo, aged 23, was stopped for the purpose of a drug search by officers in Stone Road in November 2022 .

He was found carrying three different mobile phones on him, with one of them being a burner phone. Messages had been sent from the phone advertising the sale of cocaine and cannabis in communities in the area.

Another phone had messages on it relating to the sale of nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas.

A search of his home uncovered four bags of cannabis. Valued together, the drugs had an estimated street value of £3,630.

Digital scales were also found in his home, which had traces of cannabis on them when they were forensically tested.

Makamo, of Stafford,  was jailed for five-years-and-two-months at Stafford Crown Court on  November 12.
