Leon Haughton, 34, was sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday) for attempted murder, possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and possessing a prohibited firearm.

Haughton, of West Green, Penn, was found guilty of attempted murder after a trial in October. He used trackers to follow his victim to a car park on Merryfield Road, Dudley.

He shot his victim at point blank range in the early hours of April 6 this year and it was a 'miracle' he did not die. The shotgun Haughton used was stolen in a burglary in West Mercia in 2023.
