Man charged after 'hammer threats' in Dudley
A man has been charged with threatening a person with an offensive weapon in public.
West Midlands Police confirmed that Daniel Pitt had been charged with threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place after being called to reports of a man waving a hammer on Dudley High Street on Thursday.
Pitt was remanded in custody and was due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Friday.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A man has been charged after another man was threatened with a hammer in Dudley.
"Daniel Pitt, 36 from Oldbury, has been charged with threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place.
"He has been remanded in custody to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on October 31.
"This comes after we received a report that a man was seen waving a hammer on Dudley High Street yesterday afternoon.
"A hammer was also recovered."
