Police appeal after elderly woman scammed out of money in courier fraud in Smethwick

Police want to speak to this person after an elderly woman handed over cash in what police suspect was a case of courier fraud.

West Midlands Police has released an image of a man officers want to speak to following the incident in Smethwick on August 2.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Can you tell us who this is?

"We're investigating after an elderly woman handed over cash in a suspected case of courier fraud in Smethwick on Saturday, August 2.

"Our enquiries are continuing and after trawling through CCTV as part of our investigations we want to speak to this man.

"His face isn't very clear but he is wearing a distinctive T-shirt and head covering.

"If you can help identify him, call 101 quoting crime reference 20/331922/25."
