Man and woman bailed as Oldbury and Halesowen rape investigations continue

A man and a woman arrested on suspicion of rape have been bailed as police investigations continue into two sex attacks in Oldbury and Halesowen.

West Midlands Police confirmed that a 49-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman arrested on Friday on suspicion of two counts of rape have now been bailed with conditions pending further enquiries.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Our investigations into a racially aggravated rape on Tame Road in Oldbury on Tuesday, September 9 and a rape in Hurst Green Park in Halesowen on Thursday, October 16 are progressing.

"Specialist officers are continuing to support both victims and we are working closely with key partners.

"A team of officers remains in place conducting enquires such as reviewing CCTV footage and examining forensic evidence. Increased patrols are continuing around Tame Road and Hurst Green Park.

"We would appeal to anyone with CCTV, dash-cam footage, or any information to get in touch.

"Information can be given by calling 101 or on Live Chat on our website quoting log 798, September 9 and 4711 of October 16.

The independent charity Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111 and is offering a £20,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the attack on Tame Road.
