'Drunken cocaine-fuelled fights happen every week across the country but normally anyone injured would go to the hospital' murder accused tells jury
The Black Country pub brawl which led to the death of 'super human' Matthew Adams "happen up and down the country every weekend" one of the men accused of murdering him told a jury.
Mark Shorthouse took the witness stand for the second day and was cross examined by prosecutor Annabel Darlow in the murder trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court
The 55-year-old described Matthew Adams as having "super human strength" as he fought off a group of baying men and teenagers behind The Gough Arms.
Shorthouse said he "could not believe Matthew Adams kept getting back up" and "was coming back for more" during the violent disorder in the early hours of March 19, 2023.

Shorthouse claimed facing the incredible strength of Mr Adams forced the need to render him unconscious with blindside haymaker to end the confrontation.
He continued to deny he wanted to cause serious harm to his victim who died four days later.
He said: "This happens up and down the country every weekend with people taking cocaine and drinking lots of alcohol. But normally after a fight a person would normally check themselves into hospital. Which I wish Mr Adams had."
