Man, 37, arrested over stabbing in Stafford town centre street
A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of another man in Stafford town centre.
He was arrested in relation to an incident in Bridge Street in Stafford when a man, aged in his 20s, was stabbed in the neck at about 4am on September 27 resulting in the emergency services being called to the street.
Following the incident Staffordshire Police requested that councillors review the premises licence for Casa nightclub which was closed at the time and is situated near the scene of the incident. Bosses at the venue which has been trading in the town for almost two decades said they were taking the matter seriously and that the stabbing happened elsewhere.
The force said: "We’ve made an arrest as part of our ongoing investigation into a stabbing - in Stafford. Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service told us that they were responding to the incident on Bridge Street at about 4.10am on Saturday September 27.
