Having recently carried out positive enforcement in Selly Oak, tackling crime like burglary, robbery, and vehicle offences, the Operation Skybridge team are now continuing to focus on those issues as well as working to combat drug crime.

On Monday, officers were called about reports of a suspected stolen car being located near Hagley Road and, following quick work by officers from response and Op Skybridge, two people were detained.

Iman Daraby, 38, has been charged with taking a motor vehicle without owners consent, and Mickayla Roberts, 34, was charged with being carried in a motor vehicle taken without the owner’s consent.

Daraby was also charged with driving without a licence, and driving without insurance.

The pair appeared before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Wednesday and are scheduled to appear again in 2026.

On Tuesday, Skybridge officers stopped a car in Hagley Road West, where following searches, an imitation firearm, a large combat knife, a taser, and cannabis were seized.

Two men and a woman were arrested for multiple offences including possession of an offensive weapon and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

All three were bailed with strict conditions while inquires continue into the investigation.

Finally on Wednesday evening, officers patrolling around Quinton were alerted to a potential break-in ongoing, and following enquiries, a man and a woman were stopped in Bournville Lane.

The man, aged 50, was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill, and the 33-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife.

Both remain in custody for questioning.
