Wolverhampton man and woman plead not guilty to charges relating to alleged firearm robbery in Whitmore Reans

A Wolverhampton man and woman will stand trial for robbery after pleading not guilty to several charges relating to an incident in Whitmore Reans where a man was left with a fractured jaw.

Nigel Watt, of Whitmore Reans and Jodie Hope, of Tettenhall, are accused of bursting into their victim's home on Friday, September 5 and robbing him of £200.

The 43-year-old was taken to hospital with a suspected fractured jaw. The police were called to Evans Street, Whitmore Reans, after reports of violence and Hope, aged 36 and of Tettenhall Road; and Watt, aged 45 and of Evans Street, were arrested shortly afterwards.

A third man, reportedly with the pair, has never been identified.

The pair appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court yesterday (Monday) and denied all charges in connection with the alleged robbery. Hope was in the dock and Watt appeared via a video link from HMP Hewell.
