Adam Clowes, of Stafford, was handed a six-and-a-half-year prison sentence at Stafford Crown Court on Friday (September 26) after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin and being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine.

Officers from Staffordshire Police had stopped the 24-year-old on Lammascote Road on August 7 last year and a search was carried out, with phones and cash recovered.

A further search of an associated address revealed more cash and phones.

This followed a previous search in September 2023 which saw officers carry out a foot chase following a suspected drug-deal involving Clowes, with seized phones revealing his involvement in a county drugs line.

Superintendent Victoria Downing, of the Staffordshire Police major and organised crime unit, said: “Clowes attempted to evade officers when he was stopped in Stafford in August last year.

“Searches revealed his involvement in the supply of class A drugs and I’m pleased the judge issued Clowes with a lengthy prison term for his offending.

“We will continue to do all we can to crack down on the supply of illegal drugs in Staffordshire in order to protect our communities from these harmful substances.”
