WATCH: Police bodycam footage shares rare glimpse into efforts to tackle gun crime in the West Midlands
Police have released bodycam footage that capture several instances where officers have tackled gun crimes across the West Midlands.
The clip, which was shared by West Midlands Police, shows armed officers conducting pre-planned raids that have been carried out to tackle gun crime in the region.
In a statement, the force confirmed that specialist officers have been deployed to 44 incidents in the last week alone - with 10 weapons seized.
A spokesperson said: "Armed policing never stops. Our firearms officers are out on the streets 24/7, pursuing serious and organised criminals and keeping the West Midlands safe.

In the last week alone, they have been deployed to 44 incidents where their specialist capabilities were needed to make arrests and prevent harm. That’s in addition to the pre-planned raids to target those involved in armed criminality.
"This video snapshot shows a brief glimpse of the work our firearms officers have carried out in the last few days alone. They’re ready to respond instantly and use high-performance marked and unmarked vehicles to get where they’re needed quickly and safely.
"They support the work of our investigators and intelligence specialists, who also work 24/7 to build a picture of those involved in gun crime, and to disrupt, arrest and bring them to justice.
"We’ve seized 244 firearms across the region since April, including those held legally by people who no longer want them. In the last week alone, 10 weapons have been taken off the streets. It’s all part of Operation Target – our 24/7 mission to tackle those involved in serious and organised crime."
