West Midlands Police said a 15-year-old boy was attacked in the area around Morris Park in Alum Rock in Birmingham, at around 8.45pm on March 7 this year. The teenage victim was stabbed multiple times and suffered injuries which were serious, but not life-threatening.

An investigation was launched by the Major Crime Team, and following several lines of enquiries, three teenagers and a man were arrested and subsequently charged.

Ahead of a trial at Birmingham Crown Court, the three teens, one aged 16, and two aged 17,  all pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent, while Idris Urfan, 22, pleaded guilty to assisting an offender.

All four were remanded in custody to be sentenced later this year.

Detective Inspector Francis Nock, from the Major Crime Team, said: "This was a shocking violent attack.

"Our team worked extensively on the case to identify the suspects and bring them into custody and finally before the courts.

“We want to send out a clear message that we won’t tolerate people who use weapons on our streets and demonstrate violence such as we have seen in this case.

"If you behave in this manner we will arrest and charge you and bring you before the courts. They face many years behind bars when they are brought back to court.”
