Man convicted of abducting and sexually assaulting girl, 5, in Birmingham
A man has been convicted of abducting a child and sexually assaulting her at a house in Birmingham.
Mohammed Abdulraziq was found guilty of false imprisonment with intent to commit a sexual offence, sexual assault of a female under 13 and an assault on a woman following a trial at Birmingham Crown Court.
The 32-year-old was discovered in a house in Birmingham with a five-year-old on the afternoon of March 30.
The court heard how the girl had been playing in the street when Abdulraziq took her into a house, with the girl’s mother and her friend searching for her daughter and hearing crying coming from inside a house.
Her friend looked through the window and saw a man inside a room with the girl, with the man then punching her through the window as she tried to climb in.
Entry was then forced into the house by members of the public who detained him until West Midlands Police were called and officers arrived and arrested him.
Abdulraziq will be sentenced at a later date.

Detective Sergeant Nicky Simms, from the West Midlands Police Central Complex Child Abuse Investigation Team, said: “Abdulraziq was a predatory individual who took a young girl off the street and into his house.
"Fortunately, incidents of this nature are rare.
“I must praise the courage of the girl and her mother in what has been a very sensitive investigation.”
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "The Complex Child Abuse department are specially trained to deal sensitively with sexual abuse survivors, offer them support and guide them through the court process.
"It is important to note that survivors of sexual assault are protected by law and have life-long anonymity.
