Racially aggravated Oldbury rape: 'This type of violence and hatred has no place in our society' says MP
West Bromwich MP Sarah Coombes has called for justice to run its course as detectives investigate a report of a "racially aggravated" rape of a Sikh woman in Oldbury.
Miss Coombes took to X to appeal for help for the victim and for justice to take its course after the woman, in her 20s, was attacked at a grassy area off Tame Road at about 8.30am on Tuesday (September 9).
"It’s absolutely horrible to hear about this racially aggravated sexual assault in Oldbury. This type of violence and hatred has no place in our society.

"I hope justice is found and the victim gets the help needed," Miss Coombes posted.
Detectives are looking for two white men in connection with the attack during which the victim was told: “You don’t belong in this country.”
One of them is described as having a shaved head and a heavy build, and was wearing a dark sweatshirt with gloves on, and the second was reportedly wearing a grey top with a silver zip.
Police said they are treating it as an “isolated incident” but understand the “anger and worry” it has caused the community.
The attack happened against a backdrop of anti-immigration protests and rising tensions around the use of hotels for asylum seekers across the UK.
Anyone with information should phone police on 101 quoting log 798 of September 9.
