Man charged following investigation into multiple shop thefts in Dudley
A man was arrested and charged with committing a number of shop thefts from stores in Dudley.
Lee Macdivvitt was arrested following an investigation into multiple shop thefts in Pensnett over the course of two months.
The 36-year-old, of no fixed address, appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Thursday for a first hearing. No details are yet available for the appearance.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We’ve charged a man with multiple shop thefts from stores in Dudley.
"Lee Macdivvitt, aged 36, of no fixed address, has been charged with attempted theft from a shop and 10 counts of theft from a shop.
"He was remanded in custody and appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court yesterday (September 11) for his first hearing.
"It follows an investigation by officers into a number of shop thefts in the Pensnett area, between July 10 and September 9.
