Despite the best efforts of ambulance teams, nothing could be done to save the man.

Now, police have said that they want to talk to 24-year-old Asad Khan in connection with the man's death.

The force has issued an image of Khan, who they believe may be around the Covent Garden area of London.

Detective Inspector Nick Barnes, from the force's homicide team, said: "We really need to hear from anyone who has any information on Khan’s whereabouts to get in touch.

“If you see him or know where he is, you must not approach him, but get in touch with us immediately."

Anyone with information on Khan's whereabouts is asked to contact West Midlands Police via their 101 number, or alternatively on the Live Chat service on their website, quoting reference number 527 of 5 September.

For those who may see him in the London area, they are asked to call the Metropolitan Police, quoting log number 2123 of 6 September.

West Midlands Police also added that the man pictured has no connection with the incident in Erdington, where officers responded to a man acting suspiciously.

The Erdington incident was revealed to be a false report that was 'provided out of genuine concern'.
