Teenage burglar who stole Rowley Regis amputee's mobility car and wheelchair avoids jail
A burglar who stole a Rowley Regis amputee's specially adapted wheelchair and mobility vehicle has avoided jail.
Jaedon Davis, 19, and two friends donned balaclavas and went on a 'mini crime-spree' in Rowley Regis on May 24 last year.
Scoping out each home on Bill Thomas Way, the trio tried several cars to see if they were unlocked until they found one, and stole a pair of expensive sunglasses before throwing the contents of a handbag on the floor.
Unimpressed with their night's work, they broke into a family home and stole the car from the driveway, with the owner's specially equipped wheelchair in the boot.
However, a tracker on the vehicle meant West Midlands Police could locate the vehicle and Davis was arrested a week later after the forensics team found a partial fingerprint on the wheelchair.
Davis, of Halesowen Road, pleaded guilty to two counts of theft, sunglasses and a car, and burglary. He was sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
