Two illegal off-road bikes turned to scrap after being seized in Dudley
Two illegal bikes have been turned into scrap after being seized by police.
The Dudley North Neighbourhood Team headed out for an off-road bike operation at the beginning of July when they seized the bikes, which have now been crushed.
The two bikes, which are now classed as police property, were crushed on Tuesday (September 2) after the owners were found to be breaking the law and riding illegally in public areas.
Both bikes were seized for being ridden with no insurance during the operation, which saw the neighbourhood team, traffic unit, West Midlands Police off-road bike team, and colleagues at Dudley Council join forces to target activity in hotspot areas.
The bikes were seized from Tipton Road and Parkes Hall Road in Dudley.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We know the use of off-road bikes is a concern in our communities and we regularly hold operations to clamp down on those breaking the rules of the road and placing themselves and others in danger, as well as causing a nuisance for residents.

"Our work to tackle off-road bikes won’t stop, and we have planned operations taking place over the coming months.
