Driver arrested after car rammed two police vehicles in Smethwick
Three men have been charged with criminal offences after separate incidents in Sandwell.
A aen was arrested after West Midlands Police officers spotted a vehicle that was believed to be stolen being driven in Smethwick in the early hours of Sunday.
After failing to stop, the driver rammed two police vehicles before decamping from the car; however, he was quickly detained, and a quantity of drugs was recovered during a search.
Lewis Wilson, aged 23 and from Wednesbury, has been charged with several driving offences, handling stolen goods, criminal damage and possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
Wilson was remanded into custody to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court.
Jack Tinsley, 20 and from Dudley, was also charged with driving a vehicle without insurance or a license, failing to stop, dangerous driving and possession of class B drugs.
He appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court yesterday (September 1) and is due to appear at a later date.
It comes after officers spotted another vehicle being driven dangerously on Shakespeare Road, Tipton, in the early hours of Sunday.
Another man, Bernard Lyons, aged 49 and from Netherton, has been charged with driving a vehicle without insurance or a license, dangerous driving, possession with intent to supply of class A drugs and acquiring criminal property.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court tomorrow.
It follows a pursuit in Cradley Heath last Thursday, where a car was seen being driven in a dangerous manner. A quantity of drugs and cash were also recovered. Two cars crashed and one person was rescued following a collision in Market Drayton.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "If you see anyone committing driving offences on our roads and it's captured on your dashcam, CCTV or a mobile phone by a passenger, we want you to send it in to us."
