West Midlands Police have arrested a man in connection with an attempted robbery at a shop in College Road, Kingstanding.

The incident, which took place at around 5.30pm on August 13, saw a shop worker threatened with a weapon.

A 39-year-old man was arrested this afternoon on suspicion of robbery and possession of a firearm. He remains in custody for questioning.

A force spokesperson said: "We've arrested a man in connection with an attempted armed robbery in Kinstanding. 

"A shopworker was threatened with a weapon in College Road at around 5.30pm on August 13. A 39-year-old man was arrested this afternoon on suspicion of attempted robbery and possession of a firearm.

"He's currently in custody for questioning."
