Man left in life-threatening condition following serious motorbike collision in Birmingham - sparking appeal

A appeal for witnesses has been launched following a serious motorbike collision which left a man fighting for his life.

We’re appealing for witnesses and doorbell footage following a serious collision in Northfield.

Officers were called to Norrington Road in Northfield in Birmingham on Monday at 4pm, after reports that a motorbike had crashed.

A man, in his 20s, was treated at the scene by paramedics for serious injuries and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he remains with life-threatening injuries.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are currently working to establish exactly what’s happened.

"They’re urging anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed the collision, or has any dashcam or doorbell footage, to get in touch with us.

"Anyone with any information is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 3012 of 25 August, or contact Crimestoppers and remain anonymous on 0800 555 111."

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a patient who had fallen from a motorbike on Norrington Road at 3.58pm on Monday, with two ambulances and a MERIT trauma doctor, with a Critical Care Paramedic attending the scene. 

"On arrival, we discovered one patient, a man, who was found to have suffered serious injuries. 

"He received specialist trauma care at the scene before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham."
