Man charged with assaulting police officers after incident on Birmingham street
A man has been charged with assaulting two police officers after an incident on Sunday night.
Two Response officers from West Midlands Police attended an address on Priors Way in Birmingham just after midnight on Sunday, following reports of a man causing criminal damage.
The man was subsequently arrested, and has now been charged with two offences of actual bodily harm, assaulting an emergency worker, and criminal damage.
Christopher Kiernan, 33, of Perry Common Road in Birmingham, was remanded in custody and is set to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Every day our officers are out and about responding to crimes and taking proactive action against things you care about.
"Assaulting emergency services staff is not acceptable, and we will continue to prosecute those who think it is."
