Man charged following shop thefts in Wolverhampton

A suspected shop thief is due to appear in court following an arrest in Wolverhampton.

Wolverhampton City Centre officers were on patrol on Thursday when they detained a man who was wanted for failing to appear at court. 

West Midlands Police have said that Dean Frazer, 44, of Wolverhampton, has been charged with two counts of theft from shops around the city centre.

The 44-year-old was remanded into custody and is due to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court today. 

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "Tackling issues around theft, retail crime and antisocial behaviour form part of our commitment to make our city centres and high streets safer as part of Safer Streets Summer.
