Watch: The moment a US woman fires shots at a Birmingham man in a failed murder plot

This the moment Aimee Betro took aim and fired at a man outside his Birmingham home in a failed murder plot.

The 45-year-old from the United States was jailed for 30 years by a judge at Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday (Auigust 21). CCTV footage released by West Midlands Police detectives showed how the victim had just returned to his home in Birmingham and was getting out of his car, but sped away as she approached him with the gun.

But hours Betro returned and fired three bullets through bedroom windows of the family's home  in Measham Grove, Yardley, shortly after 8pm on September 7 2019.

Derbyshire father and son Mohammed Aslam and Mohammed Nazir, who had been involved in a feud with the father of the man who Betro tried to shoot, were jailed for their role in the murder plot last year.

She fled back to the US two days later, but it took an international hunt before she was tracked down in Armenia and extradited to the UK earlier this year.

After a two-week trial at Birmingham Crown Court Betro was found guilty of offences of conspiracy to murder, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, and an offence relating to the importation of ammunition into the UK.
