Willenhall woman sentenced to nearly four months in prison after pleading guilty to shop theft offences
A woman has been sentenced to nearly four months in prison after pleading guilty to four shop theft offences in Willenhall across six days in August.
Hannah Bloomfield was sentenced to 16 weeks after pleading guilty at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Monday.
Bloomfield, 32, of Benton Close in Willenhall, was remanded to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Monday for a first hearing after being charged with four shop theft offences at businesses in Willenhall town centre between August 7 and 13.
The arrest was made as part of #SaferStreetsSummer, a campaign by West Midlands Police to carry out patrols and support local businesses and part of a national initiative running in town centres and high streets across the UK focusing on anti-social behaviour, retail and street crime.
Sergeant Paul Smith, neighbourhood policing supervisor for West Midlands Police, said: “Our neighbourhood team is targeting those who carry out shop thefts which has a great impact on local businesses.
"We have been carrying out regular street patrols as part of #SaferStreetsSummer where we have been targeting retail crime and anti-social behaviour in Willenhall town centre.”
