Man charged with attempted murder in Birmingham after a teenager was shot

A man has been charged with attempted murder and firearms charges after a shooting in Birmingham where a teenager was left with serious injuries.

Lamar Anderson, from Birmingham, has been charged by West Midlands Police with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. 

The 21-year-old has been remanded in custody and will now appear at Birmingham Crown Court on September 15.

The charge follows a detailed investigation by officers after a 15-year-old boy was shot at in George Street Park on August 2 at 9.40pm. 

The victim was left with serious injuries, but West Midlands Police have said they are not believed to be life-threatening.
