Smethwick father jailed for knocking out traffic warden in Oldbury road rage attack

A road rage yob has been jailed for knocking out a traffic warden after a row on an Oldbury street.

The traffic warden Mohammed Khalid knocked out was still in hospital a week after the attack on March 19, 2024.

Khalid was captured on CCTV punching the warden to the ground and then hitting him again when he staggered to his feet. His victim was left with brain injuries and had a seizure in the street.

The violence was sparked after the two men's cars almost came together in a merged lane in Oldbury.

Khalid pleaded guilty to maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm on the traffic warden at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

The 36-year-old, from Waterloo Street, Smethwick, was sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Thursday (August 14).
