Police appeal after elderly woman knocked down and robbed in her own home by bogus caller
A woman was pushed over and robbed of her purse and handbag in her own home by a bogus caller.
The incident happened on Osprey Drive in Dudley at around 4pm on July 31.
West Midlands Police said that a man claiming to be a workman had knocked on the door of the woman, aged in her 70s and, when she asked to see identification, he forced his way in, took her purse and handbag, and pushed her over.
A police spokesperson said: "Despite being understandably shaken the woman was thankfully not seriously injured after the ordeal at around 4pm on Thursday, July 31.
"We've been carrying out enquiries since the incident and it's believed the robber was white, of slim build and aged in his late 20s to early 30s.
"He’s also described as having a hair parting, with the parting frequently falling down onto his forehead.
