The Express & Star has been given shocking footage showing the moment a weapon-wielding gang attacked a car and the three people inside it on a leafy street in Bilston

The footage of the attack on Arbour Drive in Bilston has captured by a shocked local and shows several hooded individuals with weapons surrounding a white Ford.

During the video, which the Express & Star has decided not to publish, two doors can be seen open on the drivers side as the gang smash the windows and other parts of the car.

There is also an instance where one of the men in the car appears to be taken out of the vehicle, with the attack continuing until four members of the gang leave the scene in an unmarked silver car.

West Midlands Police later said they had arrested four men following the incident and have launched a full appeal for witnesses to come forward to help with the investigation.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to Arbour Drive, just after 6am to reports of a large disorder involving a number of people and bladed weapons.

"Three people were taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life threatening.

"Officers responded quickly and four people were arrested shortly after, including two who were detained with the help of a police dog.

"All four were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in custody as our investigation continues."

Detective Inspector Adam Keen, of Wolverhampton Police, said: “A number of teams came together to make quick arrests, and our investigation is moving quickly as we establish exactly what happened.

“I would like to reassure the public that we do believe this to be a targeted attack.

“We have already spoken to a number of witnesses and are gathering CCTV, and if anyone has more information, I’d urge them to get in touch.
