The two PCs from the Stechford & North Yardley neighbourhood policing team were on patrol on Warwick Road last weekend when they became suspicious about a car, which they stopped.

Although they were initially given false details, they were able to identify the driver as having been disqualified.

Following a further search, cannabis and a knife were recovered from the car.

Caine Gourley was arrested and has now been charged with possession of a class B drug, possession of a knife, driving whilst disqualified, and driving without insurance.

The 25-year-old, from Solihull, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Monday (August 11) and was remanded in custody ahead of a further hearing later this month.
