Police attempted to pull the vehicle over on January 15 this year. After it failed to stop, a pursuit through the streets of the Black Country ensued.

However, a National Police Air Service helicopter, which is shared by Midlands police forces, was nearby and the crew supported their colleagues on the ground in pursuing the car.

Unable to outrun the helicopter, the car came to a halt. Johnboy Ward, of Filey Road, Bushbury; and Kurtis Perry, of Kinfare Drive, Tettenhall, were subsequently arrested.

Prosecutor Lynette McClement told the court: “There is CCTV footage from the police helicopter which included the defendants being arrested. This will be shown to the court at a later date.”
