Bus passengers flagged down police in Wolverhampton city centre after a woman's purse was stolen and a suspect was arrested
A suspected purse thief will appear before magistrates today (Tuesday) after an arrest in Wolverhampton city centre
Members of the public flagged down passing officers from British Transport Police - Midlands on Monday afternoon after a passenger on a bus on Stafford Street found that her purse was missing, leading to another passenger being challenged.
Officers arrested a man on Stafford Street on suspicion of theft and he was brought into custody for questioning.
Dale Baker, of Hellier Road, Bushbury, was later charged with theft. The 47-year-old was due to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today.
