Ronan's Law: Nine horrific images of blades, guns and knuckle dusters taken from the streets as new ban comes into effect
More than 1,000 potentially lethal weapons have been taken off the streets through targeted operations and the region's knife amnesty bins.
Ronan's Law came into effect this month, meaning that it is an offence to manufacture, supply, sell, possess or import so-called ninja swords.
The law comes after the death of 16-year-old Ronan Kanda, who was brutally murdered near his own home in Wolverhampton in a case of mistaken identity.
Since his death, Ronan's mother, Pooja Kanda, has been tirelessly campaigning for stricter regulations surrounding the sale of the deadly weapons, saying that the 22-inch ninja sword that took her son's life should never have been so easy to buy.

New figures that were released on the day that Ronan's Law came into effect (August 1) have revealed a drop in the number of knife offences from 2,520 in June 2024 to 1,922 over the following 12 months.
