Man charged after police chase stolen car through Wolverhampton
Police arrested a man after chasing a stolen car through Wolverhampton.
West Midlands Police officers chased a stolen car through Wolverhampton on Friday night (August 1). The driver had failed to stop the Audi, which had been stolen.
The car was reported stolen from Old Heath Lane in Wolverhampton at about 7pm, then spotted by police in Darlaston Road. Officers pursued it to Parkfields, where the driver was arrested.
Jiri Fedak, 27, was subsequently charged with theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop when directed by police, using a vehicle without insurance and driving whilst disqualified, as well as attempted burglary relating to a report of people trying to break into a garage on Upper Zoar Street on June 22.
Fedak, of Old Heath Road, was due to appear to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today (August 4).
A spokesman for Wolverhampton Police said: "A man is appearing in court, charged with offences linked to the theft of an Audi from East Park on Friday night.
"Police were called after an Audi was taken from Old Heath Lane at around 7pm.
"Our officers spotted a car a short time later on Darlaston Road.
"The car failed to stop and was followed through the local area to Parkfields, where a man was arrested. He was brought into custody for questioning.
"Jiri Fedak was later charged with theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop when directed by police, using a vehicle without insurance and driving whilst disqualified.
"The 27-year-old, from Wolverhampton, was also charged with attempted burglary relating to a report of people trying to break into a garage on Upper Zoar Street on June 22.
"Fedak is due to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today.
