Two people arrested after drugs and cash found in warrants across Cannock

Two people were arrested in Cannock after police officers found thousands in cash and drugs following the execution of several warrants.

Proactive officers from Staffordshire Police searched a house in the town and seized £12,320 in cash, a concealed sword, a metal baseball bat and a suspected drug line phone.  

Officers then searched another address in the town and seized £310 in cash and a small amount of cannabis.

A 29-year-old man, from Cannock, has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of class B – cannabis.

A 17-year-old boy, from Cannock, has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class B – cannabis.

Staffordshire Police confirmed that both remain in police custody.

Cannock local policing team commander, DCI Al Lyford, said: “This was a successful joint operation that has taken more drugs, cash and weapons off our streets.”

“We will continue to work closely and proactively with the Community Safety Partnership and Cannock Chase District Council to tackle the issues that matter most to local communities.”
