Phone snatched and worker assaulted in Smethwick shop robbery
A phone was snatched and and a shop worker assaulted in Smethwick.
West Midlands Police said the mobile phone was taken from the shop on Bearwood Road around 2pm on July 6 and officers want to speak to a man as part of their investigation in connection with the allegations.
The phone was taken by a man who was then detained by staff in the store, but he assaulted one of them and escaped.
A police spokesman said: "Thankfully the male staff member who was assaulted wasn’t seriously hurt.
"We’re in contact with the shop where this happened and we’ve been reviewing CCTV as part of our investigation."
