Bloxwich lead thief caught 'red-handed' and arrested
A man was arrested on suspicion of theft after reports of a person on a roof in Bloxwich.
West Midlands Police officers were called to reports of a man on the roof of a business on Ingram Road in Bloxwich at around 12.20am today (July 30).
The 31-year-old man was arrested following a stop-and-search and taken into custody where he remains.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We arrested a man after fast-responding officers caught him red-handed stealing lead from the roof of a building in Bloxwich.
"We received a call shortly after 12.20am this morning to a business premises on Ingram Road.
"Officers arrested a 31-year-old man following a stop-and-search and recovered the lead.
"He was taken into custody on suspicion of theft and remains in custody as we continue with our enquiries.
