Teenager arrested and nine stolen bikes and scooters recovered from house in Sutton Coldfield

A haul of stolen off-road bikes were stolen and a teenager arrested after police searched a house in Sutton Coldfield.

Officers from the Sutton and Erdington neighbourhood team carried out searches at an address on Wyatt Road in Sutton Coldfield on Friday (July 25), where they recovered nine off-road bikes, motorcycles and scooters.

A teenager was arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicles and handling stolen goods.

West Midlands Police said he has since been bailed with strict conditions while enquiries continue.

The bikes are being examined and should be reunited with their owners in due course.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "In 2024, more than 5,000 stolen vehicles of all types were recovered by our teams across the West Midlands.

"Our teams are working daily to track down those responsible and break up the criminal networks who profit from vehicle theft.
