MJ's Bar on Bridge Street in Wednesbury

The decision to shut MJ’s Bar, based on Bridge Street, Wednesbury, was made by Sandwell Council on Wednesday, September 6.

It came after a man was seriously injured in an attack inside the venue in the early hours of August 13.

The club last month had its licence suspended in an expedited review but has now been ordered to close its doors for good.

Supt Jayne Robson, of West Midlands Police, had previously urged the authority to review the club’s licence, claiming the bar did not contact the force or the ambulance service when the attack happened.
